Ngumi noticed an unidentified person near her gate while getting ready for work. Wangai, wanting to speak with Ngumi’s spouse, escalated a dispute with Ngumi and rammed her vehicle into the gate. Wangai allegedly tried to run over Ngumi and sprayed a liquid, suspected to be acid. While attempting to harm Ngumi, Wangai unintentionally damaged her own vehicle. The police were notified, and Wangai fled upon learning about it.

Detective Constable Erastus Matuanga opposed bail, citing unresolved disputes and difficulty obtaining statements from key witnesses. Ms. Wangai, a mother of four, was granted a Sh1 million bond with no cash bail. The case is scheduled for mention on April 9, with the hearing set for July 4, and Ms. Ngumi’s husband is listed as a witness.
