The main suspect in the Daniel Mutiani aka Sniper murder case appeared in the Kiambu High Court today.
Two people charged with murder, Vincent Muriti Kirimi (alias Spu Omiolo) and Mlangiri Kenneth Guantay (Mwangaza’s younger brother) alias Tali, appeared before Judge Dora Chepkwani and pleaded not guilty.
The charges against both men follow a psychiatric evaluation which concluded that both men are fit for trial.
“Vincent Muriti Kirimi alias Spuu Omioro and Mlangiri Kenneth Guantay alias Tali have been charged with murder in violation of Section 204 (Chapter 63) of the Penal Code following a psychiatric evaluation. Both were fit to stand trial,” a statement from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) read in part.
“On various dates between December 2, 2023 and December 6, 2023, the defendant Daniel Mutiani Bernard alias Snipers was allegedly murdered,” the ODPP added.
The judge ordered that the two be kept in custody at the Industrial Area Detention Center until the defense applies for bail.
Judge Chepkwani also ordered Probation and Aftercare Services to carry out a social assessment and submit a pre-release report within 14 days.

An autopsy conducted by the government’s chief pathologist, Johansen Oduor, found that the blogger had been strangled to death.
The decedent also had wounds on his neck and showed signs of oxygen deprivation. He suffered broken ribs and head injuries.
