Chelsea are interested in Aston Villa striker John Duran and are considering bringing the striker to Stamford Bridge this month. In the UK, the counter will close at 11pm on Thursday 1st February.

Chelsea are one of the clubs interested in signing Aston Villa striker John Duran before the deadline.

There are no offers yet for the player and it remains to be seen where Villa stand regarding the 20-year-old’s future.

Villa manager Unai Emery confirmed that Duran was injured ahead of Friday’s FA Cup third round match against Chelsea and expressed doubts about his transfer.

“John Duran is injured at the moment, but I’m happy for him,” Emery said.

Duran only joined Villa from Chicago Fire last summer and has played in 14 Premier League games so far. All of his appearances were on the bench.

The Colombian international started four games in the Europa Conference League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup, scoring four goals in all competitions.

Chelsea are looking to bring a new striker to Stamford Bridge this month, but they are yet to sign anyone 25 days until the start of January.

Officials also say the Blues need to be aware of profitability and sustainability (PSR) rules, but Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino insists Chelsea don’t need to sell before they buy. He told Sky Sports News.

The Sales Academy graduate will book a net profit on the balance sheet, increasing the likelihood that Brodja, Conor Gallagher and Trevor Chalobah will be sold this month.

The winter transfer window is now open and will close on Thursday 1 February 2024 at 11pm in England and midnight in Scotland.

In order to harmonize with Europe’s major leagues, the end date was set after consultation with the EFL, DFL, Serie A, La Liga, and LFP, with the summer and winter seasons being September 1st and February 1st, respectively. It will close on the day.
